AND A LIFE TIME OF COMMUNITY SERVICE

Six Top Priorities

Safe Neighborhoods and Quality of Life
As our population grows in Santa Clarita, we need to strengthen our partnerships between law enforcement, schools, businesses and the community to ensure crime prevention, fire prevention and traffic safety. As past president of the SCV Sheriff’s Foundation, board director and nonprofit community leader I have worked to strengthen and foster community engagement, youth activities and family services.

Economic Development and Sustainable Public Infrastructure
To accommodate growth, maintain and improve our quality of life in Santa Clarita we need a thriving diverse economy that supports small local businesses, attracts diverse industries that bring high paying jobs, invests in infrastructure and transportation systems, and is committed to building a sustainable and environmentally resilient community.

Ensuring Environmental Sustainability
Prioritize the protection of natural resources which include using renewal energy, efficient water management, maintaining green spaces and parks which will make Santa Clarita more sustainable.
During my tenure on the Hart School Board. I advocated for solar energy. We were able to put up solar panels over our parking lots at each of our schools. We were the first school district in Santa Clarita to do this.

Education & Youth
Deepening partnerships with Hart District and COC to expand Career Technical Education programs and support after-school programs .

Fiscal Stewardship

- SANTA CLARITA COUNCIL MEMBER
and FORMER santa clarita MAYOR BILL MIRANDA
As a local business owner, I've seen how much City Hall's decisions shape our day-to-day lives here in Santa Clarita, which is why I'm backing Gloria Mercado-Fortine for Council. Gloria is a lifelong SCV resident and Hart High grad with a 37-year career in education, including 16 years as an elected trustee on the Hart District Governing Board and a decade before that on the Castaic Union board. That's real experience managing public budgets and building consensus. She's also stayed deeply involved locally, chairing the Samuel Dixon Family Health Center board, past President of the SCV Sheriff's Foundation, and past SCV Woman of the Year. That's the kind of proven, steady leadership our business community needs on the council.
